We are now looking for a Radiochemistry Engineer! The position is a parental leave cover – a perfect opportunity to broaden your experience and create valuable contacts in the energy sector.

About Us

The Radiological Support Group consists of areas including radiochemistry, radio-physics, radiation protection, dosimetry, waste and clearance, as well as emergency preparedness, and together with operational protection forms the unit Radiology/Operational Protection.

The Radiological Support Group is responsible for environmental monitoring and environmental radiology, emissions monitoring and emissions analysis, clearance and personal dosimetry. We also handle regulatory matters and reporting within large parts of our operational area. At Ringhals, our group provides key competence to the entire organization and works towards both operation and decommissioning.

About the Role

You will be offered practical tasks, both laboratory and measurement technical, but also analytical and theoretical, where investigations, development work such as method development and validation, report writing, and analyses will be important and recurring in your position.

The role includes, among other things:

  • Conducting environmental monitoring, i.e., sampling, sample preparation, analysis, and reporting from land and water samples
  • Quality assurance, quality control, and calibration
  • Updating instructions and guidelines
  • Report writing
  • Conducting and analyzing whole-body measurements
  • If necessary, conducting, developing, and validating measurement methods related to local environmental monitoring

The position is a parental leave cover until 31/12 -2026

Requirements

About You

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Bachelor's degree or master's degree in chemical engineering, chemical engineering with physics, biology, or equivalent
  • Experience in laboratory work
  • You speak and write fluently in Swedish and have good knowledge of English
  • Driver's license B

Meritorious:

  • Experience in radiochemistry, environmental radiology, or radioecology
  • Knowledge of gamma spectrometry, liquid scintigraphy, and the software LabVantage and Origin
  • Experience in method development and validation

As a person, you plan, organize, and prioritize your work effectively. You are meticulous and have a high safety awareness. You are good at working both independently and in a team and are comfortable working towards deadlines. You take initiative, enjoy starting and driving activities, and achieve results.
